Method
- Step 1: In a saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, remove from heat and let it cool.
- Step 2: Once the syrup has cooled, add the fresh shiso leaves, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Blend everything together until smooth.
- Step 3: Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the solids, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Step 4: Pour the strained liquid into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
- Step 5: Every 30 minutes, use a fork to stir the mixture, breaking up any ice crystals. Repeat this process until the sorbet is fully frozen and has a fluffy texture, which should take about 2-3 hours.
- Step 6: Once ready, serve the shiso sorbet in chilled bowls or cups. Enjoy this refreshing treat!
Notes
To store your shiso sorbet, simply keep it in the freezer in an airtight container. It will stay fresh for about 2 weeks.
