Method
- Step 1: In a large jar or pitcher, combine the hojicha tea leaves and cold water. I love using a glass jar because it allows me to see the beautiful color of the brew!
- Step 2: Stir gently to ensure the tea leaves are fully submerged. This step helps release all those delicious flavors.
- Step 3: Cover the jar or pitcher and refrigerate for 6 to 8 hours. You can prepare this overnight and wake up to a refreshing drink!
- Step 4: After steeping, strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or a tea strainer to remove the leaves. You want to enjoy the smoothness of the tea, free from any leaves.
- Step 5: Serve the cold brew over ice or store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Adding a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint on top makes it even more inviting!
Notes
Store any leftover cold brew in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to 3 days. Just remember to give it a little stir before serving, as some flavors might settle.
