Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This hot temperature helps the popovers puff up beautifully.
- Step 2: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt until combined.
- Step 3: In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and melted butter. Whisk until well blended.
- Step 4: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth. Don't worry if there are a few lumps.
- Step 5: Grease a popover pan or muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.
- Step 6: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cup about halfway.
- Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the popovers are puffed and golden brown.
- Step 8: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
- Step 9: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, pureed strawberries, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for the strawberry butter.
- Step 10: Mix until well combined and smooth, then transfer to a serving dish and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
These popovers are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven. Store uneaten popovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
