- Step 1: In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Step 2: Add the 1 cup of roasted barley to the boiling water.
- Step 3: Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes. If you prefer a stronger flavor, go for the full 15 minutes.
- Step 4: Remove the pot from heat and strain the tea into a pitcher or your favorite serving vessel.
- Step 5: Allow it to cool if you want iced Mugicha, or serve hot. Enjoy your Mugicha!
Notes
If you want to get creative, consider adding a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint for a refreshing twist. Mugicha can be enjoyed hot or cold, and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-5 days.
