- Step 1: In a bowl, combine the white miso paste, sake, mirin, sugar, and soy sauce. Mix until smooth.
- Step 2: Place the black cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour the miso mixture over them, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Step 3: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 24 hours, or up to 48 hours for a stronger flavor.
- Step 4: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 5: Remove the fillets from the marinade, gently wiping off any excess miso.
- Step 6: Place the fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 7: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
