- Step 1: If you're using fresh bamboo shoots, start by peeling and slicing them thinly. If you’re using canned bamboo shoots, simply drain and rinse them well.
- Step 2: In a saucepan, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Step 3: Add the bamboo shoots to the saucepan and stir to combine everything. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the bamboo shoots to soak up all those delicious flavors.
- Step 4: Once done, remove from heat and let it cool. This step is essential as it helps the flavors meld together.
- Step 5: Transfer the seasoned bamboo shoots to a serving dish and sprinkle with chopped green onion before serving.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They'll last for about 3-4 days. Just give them a quick stir before serving again to refresh the flavors!
