- Step 1: Begin by rinsing the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch and makes the porridge less sticky.
- Step 2: In a large pot, combine the rinsed rice and 6 cups of water. Bring it to a boil over high heat.
- Step 3: Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for about 30 to 40 minutes. Stir occasionally to help make the porridge nice and creamy.
- Step 4: When the rice is soft and the porridge has reached your desired consistency, add salt to taste and stir well.
- Step 5: Serve hot, and don't forget to top it with your favorite toppings like green onions or pickled vegetables for an extra flavor kick!
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Just add a little water when reheating to get that creamy consistency back.
