  • 1 whole chicken spatchcocked
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
For garnish
  • green onions
  • sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Step 3: Place the spatchcocked chicken on a baking sheet, skin side up.
  4. Step 4: Brush the honey soy mixture generously over the chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  5. Step 5: Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Step 6: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. If you want to keep it longer, feel free to freeze it for up to 3 months.
