Ingredients
Method
- Step 1: Place a gyoza wrapper on a clean, flat surface. Make sure it’s nice and dry!
- Step 2: Add a small amount of filling (about 1 teaspoon) to the center of the wrapper. Don’t overfill it, or it might burst!
- Step 3: Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. This helps create a good seal.
- Step 4: Fold the wrapper in half over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press gently to enclose the filling.
- Step 5: Pinch the edges together firmly to seal. You want to make sure no filling can escape!
- Step 6: Create pleats along one side of the gyoza by folding and pinching the edges. This gives it that authentic look and ensures a tight seal.
- Step 7: Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling. Enjoy the rhythm of folding – it’s oddly meditative!
Notes
Store uncooked gyoza in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. If frozen, they can last up to 3 months.
