Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set this aside for now.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract together until creamy.
- Step 4: Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Step 5: Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
- Step 6: Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Step 7: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- Step 9: Allow them to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
To keep your cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They should last about a week—if they last that long! For longer storage, you can freeze them.
