  • 500 g boneless skinless chicken thighs This cut is perfect for its tenderness and flavor.

Method
 

  1. Step 1: In a medium pot, combine the soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, minced garlic, sliced ginger, and chopped green onions.
  2. Step 2: Add the chicken thighs to the pot and pour in enough water to cover the chicken completely.
  3. Step 3: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Step 4: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes, turning the chicken occasionally.
  5. Step 5: Remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool slightly. Slice the chicken into thick pieces and serve, drizzled with the sauce from the pot.

Notes

If you have leftovers, place the sliced chicken in an airtight container and cover it with the sauce. It will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
