- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Step 3: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, black sesame seeds, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Step 6: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Step 7: Flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a fork or your hand.
- Step 8: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Step 9: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
To keep your Black Sesame Cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They should stay good for about a week. If you want to keep them longer, you can freeze them for up to three months. Just thaw at room temperature before enjoying!
